9. Dr. Gregory House - House

Despite his brilliance, it's kind of remarkable that Dr. Gregory House could continue to work in a hospital: after all, he's been described as a misanthrope, a cynic and a narcissist, and his inter-personal scales are more than a little lacking. Surely, people sent to a doctor like him in real life would stop seeing him, and attempt to have him immediately struck off. House practiced unorthodox diagnostic approaches, was harsh and unrelentingly rational; he was also cunning and witty, and liked to make fun of people for their weaknesses. He approached everything and everyone like a puzzle that needed to be solved and had very little patience for people who didn't see things as clearly as he did, and most endearingly, he had a comically awful bedside manner and generally avoided his patients.
