13 More TV Shows Already Cancelled In 2019 (And Why)
7. Lore
Wildly successful podcasts were always going to be a new staple for TV studios looking for captive audiences for new TV projects, so the development of a Lore TV show on Amazon was never too surprising. What is surprising, though, is that it has now been cancelled after just a couple of seasons. Clearly, popular podcasts weren't the swing for the fence producers had hoped for, which might make for some nervy reading from other networks who optioned shows on the back of podcasts...
Lore's cancellation follows its second season premiering back in October 2018 with very little about its future mentioned since then. That second season was changed after fan feedback (and some negative criticism) of the first, with creator Aaron Mahnke admitting the show perhaps focused its energy too much on paying homage to the podcast.
Unfortunately, the changes don't seem to have helped and reviews for the second season were not great, even from fans of the podcast - and somewhat catastrophically, the changes seem to have alienated fans who actually enjoyed the first season. So the writing was very much on the wall.
