13 Most Exciting New TV Shows To Watch This Fall

Your new TV obsessions.

Westworld Son Of Zorn
HBO/Fox

It's that time of year again.

The last few remaining embers of summer are slowly burning out, the weather is starting to turn, and at least one person you know has already mentioned Christmas. That means it's time to head inside, where all the major TV players will have some of their biggest and best offerings waiting for you.

Spring may bring prestige dramas, and summer is starting to get that way too (with mixed results this year), but fall - or autumn, as it's really known - is where the action is truly at. We're living in the age of Peak TV, and this is the peak time for shows to be on, when everyone rolls out the buzzy new series and established favourites.

With so many new series on their way across September and October, it can be difficult to know where to start. Donald Glover's Atlanta has already received rave reviews, and probably won fall before it's even really started, but what comes next?

As usual, there's an awful lot of generic-sounding series on their way, some of which may not last far beyond their first season, but taking a closer look there's plenty to be excited about as well.

13. Conviction

Westworld Son Of Zorn
ABC

Air Date: October 3

ABC may have cancelled Agent Carter (boo!), but they're going to continue working with Hayley Atwell (yay!).

Conviction will follow Atwell's Hayes Morrison, a talented but reckless lawyer who just so happens to be a former first daughter. After being caught in possession of cocaine, she is blackmailed into taking a job heading up the new Conviction Development Unit, where her team will investigate old crimes where there's a suspicion of wrongful conviction.

The rest of the cast includes former X-Men actor Shawn Ashmore and The Walking Dead's Emily Kinney, and it's shaping up to be a fast-paced, sharp-witted procedural, that should also hold a mirror to the current judicial system.
