11. Queen Of The South

Mr Robot OITNB BoJack

La Reina del Sur has proved to be a popular Spanish-language telenova (starring Kate del Castillo, now better known for her part in arranging the Sean Penn/El Chapo interview), so it shouldn't come as much surprise that it's getting the English-language treatment, with USA's Queen of the South.

City of God's Alice Braga has the lead role in this version, which will see her play a woman on the run from the Mexican Cartel her drug-dealing boyfriend was involved in before his death. Once she's found refuge in the United States, she'll then start her own cartel.

It sounds like an interesting take on drug-dealing dramas, especially seeing a woman take on the role of a drug lord, and hopefully it can translate some of what made the original so popular.

Queen of the South begins June 23.
