15 Annoying Mistakes You Never Noticed In Mad Men

4. Le Cirque

A rare example of an historical inaccuracy from a later Mad Men episode (not that there€™s many anyway, but the majority occur in seasons 1-3), this one comes from the season six episode €˜To Have And To Hold€™, set in 1968. Joan and her friend have a conversation about making reservations at the restaurant Le Cirque. They€™d have had a very long wait for a table, as it didn€™t open until 1974. Weiner initially joked that Christina Hendricks had ad-libbed the line, before admitting that it was a €œterrible error.€ Le Cirque€™s publicist, meanwhile, commented that €œSirio would have been open if he knew that Joan wanted a reservation in 1968.€

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
