15 Annoying Mistakes You Never Noticed In Mad Men

13. Bryn Mawr

No, this isn€™t a Welsh character who found his way to Madison Avenue in the 1960s, but the name of the college attended by Don€™s first wife, Betty. Back in season one episode The Ladies Room, she says that her neighbour€™s jealousy reminds her of her days in a sorority at Bryn Mawr. While it€™s easy to imagine Betty as being part of a sorority, there was just one little problem with this; Bryn Mawr didn€™t have sororities. Matthew Weiner commented on this error, telling the New York Times: €œMaggie Siff, who played Rachel Menken, went to Bryn Mawr, and she said that€™s wrong. You do what you can.€

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
