11. I Am So Over You
Another rather contentious Joan quote from season one, this time from the episode Long Weekend. Here we see Joan saying 1960, I am so over you. Linguists have argued that using so in order to quantify the extent of something would not have been used in back in 1960, and Weiner has admitted that there were arguments in the writers room as to whether or not the phrase would make it into the show. Ultimately it did, mostly thanks to Cole Porters 1948 song So In Love. The phrase I hear you was reportedly not so lucky.
