But Vanessa/Fisk isn't the relationship that inspired Daredevil viewers the most. Nor was it Matt/Karen, Foggy/Karen or even Matt/Foggy. No, what really made Tumblr's night was Fisk/Wesley. That's not to say the feelings they inspired weren't complex: both were racketeers and essentially murderers many times over, whether the blood was directly on their hands or not. And that loyalty is reciprocated. Wesley is essential to Fisk's story if only because he proves that for everything else Fisk is - childlike, monstrous and cunning - he is someone who can love and be loved. This has, naturally, inspired plenty of fan-fictions and other works, but the best tribute to their relationship is this simple supercut of one thing that Fisk says to Wesley and almost no one else.
