15 Best TV Shows Of The Last 25 Years

6. Mad Men (2007-present)

DonDraperMadMen The lives of the men and women who work in an advertising agency in New York in the 1960s. The agency is enjoying success, but the advertising game becomes more competitive as the industry develops. The agency must adapt to ensure its survival. Don Draper is a talented ad executive at the top of his game, but the secrets from his past and his present threaten to topple his work and family life. Mad Men breaks my heart just thinking about it. It's almost masochistic for me to watch this show. The biggest reason being that the acting is so damn amazing. I have never seen such good acting on any TV show, ever. Ever. It's practically flawless, which is just so hard to bear. The acting, directing, writing, editing, music, every damn thing, including John Hamm and Christina Hendricks, is perfect. Of course, there are certain episodes that are less effective, but even those are above the quality level of anything else on TV. And it keeps shocking me €“ how can a series that runs at an almost indistinguishably glacial pace be so rewarding? You never know what's going to happen on Mad Men. Goddamn it, this show makes me want to be on TV! All that being said, I can't call this show a "must watch" because honestly, it's not for everyone. I know people whose opinion I value greatly that can't stand it. But they just can't bear the perfection, as far as I am concerned.

Born in Israel, but raised partly in the UK, Shira is rather an odd duck. She will get in your face with her opinion, but will then be super polite to the waitress serving her a cocktail, no matter how bad the service is. Movies are her passion, along with good TV, music, and Shakespeare. She loves to sing and goes to karaoke a lot, too. She will do anything creative, and will resort to finger painting if necessary. Shira also, apparently, enjoys writing about herself in third person, which is weird. But she just finished her first Fantasy novel, and it's not about her, so that's ok. Shira is very glad to be a part of WhatCulture!
