A more optimistic and idealistic series than its obvious competitors in the overcrowded marketplace of eighties anthologies, the horror forward Tales from the Crypt and more mature Twilight Zone reboot, this Steven Spielberg produced series eschewed the social commentary expected from the genre in favour of a more escapist approach.

A purely entertaining series which drew inspiration from old fashioned serials which were popular decades earlier, this show is a prime example of breezy and exciting light hearted sci-fi. There's also no better time to cue up a rewatch, as it’s soon to be remade with a more modern sheen in the coming year.
