15 Greatest Performances In Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Shows
14. James D'Arcy - Jarvis (Agent Carter)
Agent Carter sadly never reached the same audience that even Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has, leading to ABC cancelling the series after just two seasons. A shame, since it was a look at a rather different corner of the MCU, and a thoroughly fun and enjoyable mashup of this universe, a period piece, and a spy series.
Leading the way were its two leads, and while the show was Agent Carter, the role of Jarvis shouldn't be overlooked either. Played by James D'Arcy, the precursor to Tony Stark's robotic butler is every bit the charming Brit you'd expect him to be.
D'Arcy made the character incredibly likeable, but also stopped him from being just a one-note stereotypical butler figure too. There was a nice role reversal in his relationship with Peggy, he being the damsel-in-distress, while there was a clear sense of loyalty. When required, he was also able to step up and become a more heroic figure too. He also did a great job of evoking a sense of Paul Bettany's movie Jarvis, impressive given at the time we'd only heard the latter's voice.
