Airing: Pilot Ordered The almost universally adored comic probably isn't what most comic book TV shows would expect to watch, but the strength of the source material is such that it's impossible to ignore the draw of the upcoming Vertigo adaptation, optioned by WGN American. It's set to follow the comic closely, offering a grubby, noirish crime show based on a Native American reservation, riddled with organised crime, drug use and struggles to retain cultural identity. The lead character - a Native American FBI agent called Dash Bad Horse - will return to his tribal home after fifteen years as part of an undercover operation to investigate links between the Sheriff of the Tribal Police and the death of two FBI agents thirty years previously. The Selling Point: It's a great story, and the comic book is firmly in the classic bracket. Concerns: If anything, it's just an unknown quantity coming from a show with limited track record in making original shows - and Salem hasn't exactly been loved.
