7. She Had A Super Cat

You've all heard of Superman's Super-Dog Krypto, right? Well, back in Action Comics #261, Supergirl got a cute animal sidekick of her own. After the young hero failed to properly dispose of some Kryptonite she was experimenting on, her cat Streaky came across the alien substance and suddenly developed super strength, heat vision, flight, and pretty much every other power you'd associate with a character wearing an "S". What a cat would need with those abilities is hard to say, but Streaky the Super Cat became one of Kara's closest allies and would go on to join the League of Super-Pets. Yes, that's actually a real thing in the DC Universe! Streaky eventually lost her powers though, and in the post Crisis on Infinite Earths DC Universe, she's just been portrayed as a regular cat (but has yet to appear in "The New 52" continuity). As you can see from the panels above though, Streaky even had her own internal monologue, and while she never spoke, she did play a pretty huge role in Kara's adventures for a number of years.
