Episode: Days Gone By (S1, E1)

Cast your mind way back to the very first episode of The Walking Dead. It introduced us to a newly non-comatose Rick Grimes, and established the fact that while our hero was sleeping the sh*t well and truly hit the fan zombie apocalypse style.

We met the brilliant Lennie James as Morgan and were treated to some absolutely breath-taking shots of an apocalypse-torn Atlanta. It’s the episode that got us all hooked on the series, but for a debut outing it’s unfortunately not without its factual blunders.

Case in point: the tank that Rick takes shelter in after he and his horse (RIP TWD animal casualty number one) are overrun by a zombie horde on the streets of Atlanta. At first glance it appears to be an American tank but as any tank expert worth their salt will tell you, it’s actually a Chieftain MK 10 – an obsolete British tank never used by the US military.

We doubt the British Army swooped in with a disused tank to try and prevent the fall of Atlanta, so we’re assuming the makers of TWD just found the first available prop tank and thought we wouldn’t notice. Thought wrong, suckers.
