There is nothing quite like Game of Thrones. In an era of binge-watching, it remains a true week-to-week watercooler series, and Season 8 is going to be the biggest yet, for a number of reasons.

It's had a whole year off, meaning the desire for more is at full fever pitch. On top of that, when it does return, it's going to be the final season, so we're going to see what happens with the battle between the living and the dead, and what fate ultimately awaits for Westeros.

If all that isn't enough, there are only six episodes left, but they're going to be longer than ever, with the largest budget yet, and include what's being billed as the biggest battle in TV history. Of course, the true joy of Game of Thrones is in its character work and smaller details, so hopefully they can achieve a balancing act they didn't quite land with Season 7, but this is undeniably going to be epic, can't miss viewing.
