After what feels like an eternity, but is actually only two years, American Gods is making its return to Starz, although with some big behind-the-scenes changes (and drama) that mean it's not quite as exciting as it should be.

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, who were responsible for bringing Neil Gaiman's novel to the screen and giving it its incredible aesthetic, have departed after some creative differences, which included Starz wanting to reduce the budget considerably. Jesse Armstrong came in as showrunner, although reports then surfaced that he was being sidelined, with Ian McShane and others re-writing their lines on the spot, Gaiman having greater control, and lots of tension in production.

Somehow, Season 2 has been made, and will hit Starz on March 10. It'll take things to Cairo, the funeral home, and the 1930s, while the storm continues to brew in the background. The characters and world are both rich, so if they can get it right, it should be awesome. That's a big 'if' right now though.
