Serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for beheading an undercover police officer with a machete, Adebisi is feared throughout the prison due to his uncompromising malevolence. He’s never getting out. Since that’s the case, he’s made of Oz an iron and concrete throne room, gradually building and consolidating power through fear, rape, casual violence and murder when he can get away with it (and sometimes when he can’t).

He’s also a junkie, adding to his air of unpredictable madness. Adebise is a clever man, a ruthless, thinking monster, but has enough of a reputation for sudden mayhem and ferocious madness to give everyone pause, from the correctional officers to the men incarcerated with him.

If it’s his ravening psychosis that keeps him in power, then certainly it’s that scheming quality to his character that gets him there. When he manages to obtain a gun inside, he doesn’t use it to add to his already fearsome rep.
