15 New Upcoming HBO Series To Be Excited About
10. Black Flags
Although only in the very early stages of development, this one is likely to feel pretty timely. Based on Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS, which won the Pulitzer Prize of Nonfiction this year, it'll chart the rise of the terror organisation from a remote Jordanian prison to the group it is today, as well as looking at the agents tasked with shutting it down.
Bradley Cooper reportedly envisaged it as a miniseries straight after reading it, and is executive producing alongside Todd Phillips, while Tim Van Patten (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire) is set to direct.
This could be a very relevant, tense drama when it does make its way to our screens, with HBO's budget behind it, and you'd imagine with them and Cooper involved they can attract some top talent to star in it as well (that is, if Cooper doesn't fancy the gig himself, which you'd imagine is a possibility).
