Friends co-creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman also appear throughout the reunion, explaining that they based the show on their own lives as twenty-somethings living in New York, and used their friends and family as major influences on its characters.

Kauffman went on to reveal that Chandler was actually named after a real-life friend of hers, and while she sadly didn't reveal exactly who the person is, it's nevertheless interesting to finally know how the character's most uncommon, some might even say random, name made its way into the show.
