17 Hidden TV Show Gems On Amazon Prime
1. Firefly
Firefly is the best example of a one-season wonder, with a tragically short life giving us a fantastic Space Western, and introducing a slew of memorable characters such as Nathan Fillion's Captain Mal, Alan Tudyk's Wash, and Summer Glau's River Tam.
The reasons behind its 'failure' are well-documented: Fox, not having much confidence in the series, decided to show it out of order, meaning that viewers were left perplexed by who anyone was or what was going on, and billed it as more of an action-comedy, which isn't really a description that does justice to the show's characters.
It has developed a large cult following, even if it hasn't quite managed the mainstream success it deserves, and despite the follow-up film, the appetite for more remains to this day. It's one of the best things Joss Whedon has done, and if he'd been allowed to take it to the seven seasons he wanted, or even just a couple of more, it could have been something even more special than it already is. If you have Prime and haven't watched it, or even if you have, do yourself a favour and get started - just make sure it watch it in the correct order.
