16. RIP Bob - Stranger Things

Poor Bob. Sean Astin gave his best performance in years and years as Joyce's (Winona Ryder) nice-but-boring boyfriend Bob, and over the course of Stranger Things' second season he became one of the show's most likeable characters, cemented by his upsetting death scene in Chapter 8.

Bob heroically uses his tech smarts to remove the Hawkins Lab from lockdown, but as he makes his triumphant return, he's forced to run from a chasing Demo-Dog. He gets away, only to be tackled by another out of nowhere, and is later shown being devoured by a group of the beasts.

It's a disturbing, tragic fate for a great character, even if it was easy to see it coming a mile off.
