18 Best TV Episodes Of 2017 (So Far)

11. Live Studio Audience - GLOW

GLOW is a weird and wonderful take on the world of women's wrestling, and it's in one of its most wrestling-heavy episodes that everything just perfectly clicks together.

Live Studio Audience sees the ladies putting on their first ever show, which, predictably, doesn't go without a few hiccups. The series has a real strength for finding both comedy and drama in and out of the wrestling ring, and all of that is present here.

Sam is hilarious after his camera gets stolen, but there's also genuine emotion to be found as Carmen - the most purely good character on the show - struggles with her stage-fright, and then by the end and the return of Rhonda's rap, there's a real sense of triumph and empowerment for this group of women.

It has some extremely odd moments, such as a racially-charged tag-team match, that it nonetheless manages to work into the narrative and carry off as a joke and social commentary, while any episode with a very 80s style training montage - soundtracked to Dare by Stan Bush - is a sure-fire winner.
