18 Things You Didn't Know About Game Of Thrones
3. Kit Harrington Is Claustrophobic
The Long Night might have been epic, but the Battle of the Bastards remains the greatest battle ever put on television. Visceral and raw, it was a proper boots-to-the-ground experience that put the audience right in the middle of the action alongside our hero for the night, Jon Snow.
Every emotion he felt, we did with him. Though at certain points his reactions were somewhat more intense than ours. During the final moments of the battle, the Northern army is surrounded by Bolton spears on one side, and a mountain of dead bodies on the other. Determined to suffocate their foes, the Boltons push Jon's men together to the point they end up crushing each other trying to escape, rescued only by the Knights of the Vale.
During the mad stampede to get away, Jon is trampled by his own army, unable to break free and quickly becoming unable to breathe. This was a very real reaction from actor Kit Harrington, who is legitimately claustrophobic and mortally afraid of being buried alive.
Those reactions were 100% real and we were as relieved as him when he broke free of his terrified men.
