Beginning life if Homicide: Life On The Street before transferring over to Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit, he has found time to build connections and involve himself in some very interesting cases. He popped into the original Law & Order five times and Law & Order: Trial By Jury once. He got involved in a homicide case in an episode of The Beat and cameoed in The Wire. Munch went undercover on a case in California, obtaining a confession from Oscar Bluth in an episode of Arrested Development. British Detective Luther once made reference to his US contact, Detective Munch in New York, who worked in the Special Victims Unit. All standard criminal procedural shows and one (semi-realistic) comedy show. Where does the supernatural fit in? The proof happened in season five of The X Files. In the episode Unusual Suspects, Detective John Munch of the Baltimore police department interrogated Agent Fox Mulder after discovering him naked in a Baltimore warehouse back in the 1980s. In doing so, he also tied all these shows into the bigger world of observers, CIA agents with chips in their brain, Snow White and Prince Charming and the mystery of Oceanic Air Flight 815.
