20 Best 2017 Netflix Original TV Series - Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Bojack Horseman (Season 4)

Bojack Horseman's fourth season gives the show a much-needed refresh after the third season seemed to luxuriate in its grimness just a little too keenly, for though this latest batch of episodes still wrestles with thorny, bleak existential ideas, it's a good deal more hopeful than the show has been in quite a while.

More than just about any series on TV, Netflix or otherwise, Bojack continues to deliver the most authentic screen depiction of anxiety, and the fact it all revolves around an anthropomorphic horse does nothing to quell its devastating real-life relevance.

Even in its wackier moments, Bojack never slips too far from reality, and season four achieved the immaculate tonal balance that felt a little lacking in the prior season. That it remains one of Netflix's most-acclaimed Originals is proof perfect that even the most seemingly surreal animations can be more "real" than hundreds of lesser live-action dramas.
