20 Best Episodes Of Better Call Saul
12. Something Beautiful (Season 4, Episode 3)
Better Call Saul, for all its great episodes swinging for the fences, was always at its most shattering when it played things quiet, moving its characters along in a way that feels almost underwhelming, but actually means everything going forward.
Such is the case with Something Beautiful, a season four gem of a table-setter that finds cornered mole Nacho shot-up and bloodied after a staged ambush, and Jimmy faced with a heartbreaking letter from Chuck, which further complicates his inability to process his brother's death.
Despite this heavy development, Something Beautiful also manages to feature some of the show's more light-hearted subplots, including one which reintroduces a singing Gale Boetticher, and another where a recent Jimmy con job finds his hired muscle trapped in an office by a sad sack businessman going through a divorce.
Something Beautiful is violent, funny, and very troubling, and moves everything and everyone along in a vital, brilliantly subtle way.
