Having recently joined the exclusive "premature cancellation" group that Netflix has been building up over the years, Glow was a casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic, and its loss has hit the fandom hard.

But what a legacy it's left behind. The series follows an all-women wrestling team in the mid-80s as they navigate the hardships of their personal and professional lives. Along the way, Glow is everything from sports drama to comedy, and works wonders due to its colourful set pieces, empowering message and spotless lead performances.

Alison Brie in particular shines as series protagonist Ruth Wilder, and she's joined by the wickedly entertaining Betty Gilpin and Britney Young for the ride. Without them and their co-stars, things wouldn't be the same.

Glow is devilishly funny, unique and bursting with charm and style. That it was cancelled really sucks; that we got to see it at all is a blessing.
