Captain Hindsight's appeal lies in the fact that he is the least useful superhero in existence. With the power to know what SHOULD have been done to avoid catastrophe in any given situation, the hilarity of his character reaches the tip of the iceberg when he becomes an alcoholic, cursed with the reality that he will never again be unable to see how accidents and emergencies should have been avoided.
Captain Hindsight was a brilliant creation by the writers and had the South Park style stamp of comedy all over him, ensuring plenty of laughs.
Parker and Stone should have made a superhero comic book years ago, and filled it with a cast of the worst and most useless superheroes known to man to which we could have all enjoyed in satirical wonderment. Some of these gems may have included Table Manners Man, Sexual Orientation Classification Girl and, most probably, the Grammar Police.
