20 Best TV Comedy Shows Of The 21st Century

Another workplace ensemble comedy, this show may have run into some missteps in its long run—maybe don’t do a Black Lives Matter episode on a show where the police are the virtuous heroic protagonists?

Despite occasionally overestimating its political acumen, the show is nonetheless an unbelievably impressive example of just how far great cast chemistry can take a relatively routine premise. Whether it’s Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero’s once-in-a-lifetime chemistry as the immature Peralta and by-the-book Santiago or Chelsea Peretti’s inspired turn as Gina, the demented receptionist, this series is carried by a stellar cast who can make any premise hilarious, and have done so throughout an impressively long run since its 2013 debut.
