20 Best TV Shows Of 2018
10. Daredevil
Most of Netflix's Marvel shows were cancelled this year - with the future not looking bright for The Punisher and Jessica Jones either - but at least Daredevil was able to go out on a real high - and it did so by taking its titular character to his lowest point yet.
Daredevil Season 3 picks up a few months after The Defenders (and the apparent death of Matt Murdock), and finds a still-recovering Matt under the care of Sister Maggie. He can't rest of long, though, because his old rival Wilson Fisk has engineered a release from prison, and a new threat emerges in the form of FBI Agent Benjamin Pointdexter.
Once the table-setting is out of the way, what follows is the most dark, visceral experience Marvel have committed to screen. Adapting elements of Born Again, and utilising some stunning gothic and religious iconography, we're treated to a brutal, bloody war for the heart and soul of Hell's Kitchen. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio once again shine, while newcomer Wilson Bethel gives an incredibly nuanced performance as Pointdexter, and Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page steps up in a big way too.
It's a season to remind you why Daredevil made waves in the first place: complex character work, a thrilling crime saga, gorgeous visuals, and some of the most incredible action sequences you'll see on a screen of any size.
