20 Celebrities You Didn't Know Appeared In Rick And Morty

18. Werner Herzog - Shrimply Pibbles

Rick And Morty
Netflix/Disney

First Appeared In Season 2 Episode 8 - Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate

There are few directors who've had a more bizarre life than Werner Herzog. The Germany filmmaker had his house bombed when he was a few days old, worked for NASA, made a film where he ate a shoe, and got shot in the chest during a BBC interview. So, when you learn he plays an alien called Shrimply in Rick & Morty who needs his heart replaced with a human penis to survive, it's probably not that weird by his standards.

Despite Shrimply's ridiculous backstory, Herzog plays the role very calmly and sincerely, which makes it all the more hilarious when Shrimply pontificates about humanity's relentless obsession with male genitalia.
