Episode: Prom Night

An episode called ‘Prom Night’ is everything you’d expect. The teenagers are going to their first prom and they’ve all got their own personal relationship problems. Eric is trying to make a romantic night for Donna but everything keeps going wrong, Kelso has just cheated on Jackie with Pam Macy right before the evening, whilst Fez can’t find himself a date.

Being so innocent minded, Fez can’t convince his English teacher to be his prom date so to help him be noticed, Mrs Clark breaks out in song and dance with him to perform “I Will Survive”, by Gloria Gaynor. But for the more eagle-eyed fans, they will the notice the woman portraying Mrs Clark IS the real life Gloria Gaynor, who makes a nod to her golden years in the 1970s.

Ms Gaynor has clearly not lost her performance skills, nor her voice. Ignoring the fact that this episode is set in 1977 and Gloria’s “I Will Survive” wasn’t released until 1979, this is one of the greatest television cameos ever.
