16. The Endless Laughing Scene From The Galileo Seven (1966)
Something else that becomes apparent after watching all of Classic Trek is that Spock is the butt of a lot of jokes, and not just from McCoy. It's as if Vulcans are not well-liked - at least the series Enterprise got that part right. But rarely is this so noticeable as at the end of The Galileo Seven, in which Spock's first command goes very, very badly before he commits a desperate act that saves the lives of his remaining crew. When they get back to the ship, Kirk commends him on a job well-done, McCoy tells him that it was a brave act that he committed...oh, wait, wrong show. That's how people who actually like him would treat him. Here's the scene in its entirety. Take a look at these assholes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vAujEWXnGk No wonder Spock looks so stoic all the time. It's not because he's having to suppress all of his emotions, it's that he's having to suppress the constant urge to throw open every airlock on the ship and let these people be blown out into the cold void. Nearly thirty seconds of uninterrupted belly laughing and being pointed at (by Uhura, of all people) will do that to a man.
