10. Starlight - The Boys
The Boys is a show made of Big Personalities. There's the psychotic superhero (no, villain) Homelander, the grizzled hero hunter Billy Butcher, and too many more to list. But arguably the most underappreciated and quietly compelling of them all is surely Annie "Starlight" January, a true hero caught in a horrifying war.
When Starlight first appears in the series, she's an innocent young woman with big dreams of being a hero and helping people. Learning that her dream is really a nightmare and her idols are all soulless monsters, she soon becomes hardened to her life's bleak reality.
One of the show's only real heroines, desperate to do the right thing without caring what it does to her image, Starlight may not be The Boy's biggest personality, but she's certainly its most endearing and transformed. If anyone deserves some kind of peaceful future, it's her.
