20 Greatest Arrowverse Villains
9. Damien Darhk
Season four of Arrow probably represented the lowest point of the seven seasons to date. It was poorly paced, riddled with plot holes and inconsistencies, and suffered from some of the laziest writing the Arrowverse had ever seen. The flashbacks actively hurt the story, and worse… the whole thing was just boring, seeming to last twice as long as it actually did.
But there was one bright spot in all that dull pointlessness: Neal McDonough and his sneering, gloriously pantomime archvillainy, as former League Of Assassins lieutenant and current Armageddon-baiting sorcerer Damien Darhk.
As mediocre as season four was, McDonough was fantastic: singlehandedly elevating every scene he was in and every episode where he had a significant presence.
For some reason, they felt the need to kill Darhk at the end of the finale, but McDonough was too good to go out like that: time-hopping adventure series Legends Of Tomorrow snapped Darhk up for bad guy duties in seasons two and three.
