15. Maybe Father Doesn't Always Know Best
The relationship between Spock and his father, Ambassador Sarek, had long been a tense one. In one of the last scenes of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Sarek finally admits that it is possible he may have been incorrect in opposing his sons enlistment in Starfleet and that Spocks associates are people of good character. Spock replies with, They are my friends, and asks Sarek to tell his mother, I feel fine. The two part ways, an understanding finally reached after so many years, with the traditional Vulcan farewell of Live long, and prosper.
