On Conan O'Brien's show, Joe Lo Truglio revealed that a moment in season one where Boyle accidentally sets the fringe of an unflattering coat on fire could have seen him up in flames. The stunt men were preparing to light Joe on fire for real when studio heads at Fox shot the idea down. They went with the safer, CGI option instead.
