20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Sherlock
4. The Location For 221B Has Become A Fan Mecca Of Its Own
As you can imagine, 221B Baker Street has become a major tourist attraction over the years. The street numbers didn't originally go that high, with Arthur Conan Doyle intending the address to always be fictitious, but, as Sherlock popularity and the street itself grew, museums, bars and the like popped up. Due to that high level of Sherlock signage on the real Baker Street, the show shot on Gower Street, two miles from the original location. And now, with the show an incredible success, 185 North Gower Street has become another essential visit on a fan tour. Speedy's, the cafe below the flat which Sherlock and John frequent, is consistently packed with fans of the show and now even boasts themed wraps. The people on TripAdvisor aren't happy.
