13. Ron Perlman Was Scared Of His Bike...
Most of in fact the majority of the motorcycle riding and stunts in Sons Of Anarchy are actually done by the actors. The more ostentatious stunts required professionals (for insurance reasons more than anything), but usually the people riding the bikes are the same as those who shout a lot and fight each off of their bikes. All of them except Ron Perlman. At first, anyway. It took some time for Perlman, who plays SAMCRO figurehead Clay Morrow, to be cool with the Harley Davidson he uses to lead his biker gang. Initially, he was afraid of it. "Isn't that funny?" says Maggie Siff, who plays Tara. "The toughest guy in the show, and he's not all about riding. But he's so tough, you'd never guess." He knew nothing about motorcycle culture before the series and had never even been on one before, with the 65-year-old taking several spills early on (described by series creator Sutter as near-death experiences) that totally spooked the actor. He had to take a bunch more riding lessons to lessen the fear.
