20 Most Cringeworthy Star Trek: The Next Generation Moments

13. "All You Care About Is Your Honour!" From New Ground (1992)

And speaking of our little Klingon bundle of joy... Alexander was never our favourite character, even when he was a wee cute thing, but we could tolerate him so long as he was off being raised by his grandparents. (We're much like Worf himself in that regard, really). But when he comes back to the Enterprise and starts raising hell like a normal eleven-year old... er, two-year old Klingon boy would, he turns into an annoyance. If it weren't for seeing him as a grown man on DS9 only five years later, we could easily believe that Alexander eventually turned to a life of crime. And all the actor Brian Bonsall himself can claim is membership in a punk rock band, a bunch of neck tattoos, and an arrest record. The moment that endeared young Alexander to so many of us comes in his second episode New Ground, when Worf is berating his young son about stealing and lying, and explaining how these activities bring dishonor to the house of Mogh. (Um, stealing and lying are dishonorable activities according to the Klingons? Since when?) This results in Alexander taking his father (quite rightly) to task and telling him, "All you care about is your honour!" Unfortunately, this line is somewhat ruined by being delivered by an eleven-year old actor playing a petulant two-year old Klingon, and it loses a lot of punch as a result. Unless you consider cringing as painful as a punch, of course.
