Marvel and Netflix are currently 2-for-2 on their TV series deal, with Daredevil breaking new ground for the MCU, and Jessica Jones coming along a few months later and somehow managing to top it. While 2016 will also bring us the second season of Daredevil, it should also deliver the next new series in the deal, namely Luke Cage. We've already met the titular hero in Jessica Jones, and it's fair to say that viewers were left wanting a lot more of Mike Colter's unbreakable man. Quite what form it will take remains to be seen - is it going to pick up straight after Jones, or at a completely different time? Will Krysten Ritter appear? - but, if Colter is as good in the lead role as he was in the supporting one, and this series can come close to the quality of its predecessors, then Marvel and Netflix are going to have another huge success on their hands.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
