Over the years, Russell T Davies has gifted us with the likes of Doctor Who, Queer As Folk and Casanova. Now, fresh off the brilliantly thought-provoking Years and Years, he turns his attention to It's A Sin.

Set in the 1980s, the five-part drama explores the lives of three gay men in London during the HIV outbreak, the prejudice that they face during their experiences and how it ultimately affects them throughout different periods of their lives.

Davies has revealed that the show is based on his experiences as an 18-year-old in 1981 and that each character is inspired by various aspects of his younger self. The show is led by Years and Years (the band) frontman Olly Alexander, Omari Douglas and Callum Scott Howells and it also features Keeley Hawes, Neil Patrick Harris and Stephen Fry in supporting roles.

It's A Sin will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK, while going to HBO Max in the U.S. and it is expected to arrive in the year's first quarter.
