20 Most Paused TV Moments Of The Decade

1. Walter White's Journey Comes To An End (Breaking Bad - Season 5, Episode 16 )

The Moment: After building a massive meth empire over five incredible seasons, Walter White's reign finally comes to an end, succumbing to machine gun wounds in a meth lab just as the police shows up to apprehend him, while Badfinger's classic tune Baby Blue plays the series out. Why It Had To Be Paused: Because viewers had spent five years hooked on Walter White's exploits and his transformation from Mr. Chips to Scarface, and that beautiful final shot brought it all to an end. Viewers likely expected that Walt wouldn't survive the final episode, but Vince Gilligan gave him a suitable send-off that didn't vindicate his savage behaviour even as it did allow him a certain measure of redemption for his family. Ultimately, Walt went out on his own terms, surrounded by the equipment he spent so much time of his final years using to craft the finest, bluest meth the world had to offer.
