20 Superstar Actors You Didn't Know Do Commercial Voiceovers
2. George Clooney Budweiser
Clooney and his advertising hobby is one of the greater mysteries of the planet. The man is one of the coolest and most acclaimed actors of the past twenty years. He has power, he has prestige, he has talent, and he basically owns a town in Italy. Whatever film he wants to produce he can, and whatever film he wants to be in he pretty much can. Yet the man is a veritable shill for multiple products when he never needs to be. He is a true artist, yet he sells Nespresso on the side. Why? How much money does he need? Does he need to spoil his image like that? Although at least coffee in the coffee ads he is fairly entertaining, and at least coffee is relatively harmless (well if you forget about the people that get exploited to produce it). It really is surprising to hear Clooneys distinctive tones associated with Budweiser. Alcohol advertising will be looked at like cigarette advertising in the future, and it seems so strange that for someone with such a strong social conscious, that he would willingly lend his iconic voice to what is basically a legal drug that ruins lives. Also - Budweiser? Bud has got to be one of the worst beers on the planet, so he's not even lending his talents to a company that could use the help and actually has a quality product. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D_oz25ko9Q
