20 Things You Didn't Know About It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

9. Kristen Wiig Auditoned For Dee

Before Kaitlin Olson won the role of Dee, it very nearly went to up-and-comer Kristen Wiig, who was said to be in neck-and-neck competition with Olson for the part.

In the end Olson won out, though things clearly didn't go disastrously for Wiig thereafter, as she began appearing on Saturday Night Live later that year, and her career skyrocketed into the stratosphere in the years that followed, even receiving an Oscar nomination in 2012 for co-writing Bridesmaids.

Even so, it's actually pretty easy to picture Wiig in the role of Dee, given her terrific comic timing and penchant for wacky hi-jinks. Ultimately, though, everything clearly worked out as it needed to.
