20 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

2. The Passage

The Passage
Fox

The Passage seemed like a series with a lot of potential, given the epic nature of Justin Cronin's trilogy could quite easily span multiple seasons of TV (although it would've been better off on a cable or streaming service instead).

The series, which follows a young girl - Amy - chosen to be a test subject of a secret government project that ends up bringing about a wave of death and destruction, only scratched the surface of its source material. It did possess a couple of strong performances from its leads, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Saniyya Sidney, but that couldn't cover for its weaker writing, and again, it perhaps isn't a concept suited to network TV.

It was hardly Fox's worst-performing series, but the network's decision to pick up a number of new dramas for the coming season means it was among those on the bubble that ultimately had to burst in order to make some room.
