It was only a matter of time before Stannis Baratheon's pig-headed determination to fulfil his destiny would get the better of him, and the first sign that his victory would be less than guaranteed came during the opening scene of Episode 9, The Dance of Dragons. Ramsay Bolton's request from his father for twenty good men clearly paid off - in a night time raid they managed to set fire to a good portion of Stannis' army's camp, destroying stores and other equipment before slipping away unseen. Say what you will about Ramsay but he knows a thing or two about warfare. The sight of a horse careening around the tents ablaze was another haunting image in the season which came completely out of the blue.
