Best Supporting Actor
This is also going to be a tough category to call this year. John Slattery of Mad Men, who has been nominated for playing Roger Sterling every year and never won, seems likely to do so again. His role on the show this season was not particularly meaty and though I see a nomination in sight, I don't see a win. The same could be said of Peter Dinklage who did an excellent job in his performance of Tyrion Lannister, but didn't have a lot of material to work with. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, also of Game of Thrones, is a good candidate for succeeding in making one of the most hated characters on the show into one of the most beloved. Like the other two, I see a nomination but due to Game of Thrones luck at these ceremonies, I don't see a win. Sam Waterson did a great job with the Newsroom this season but the season overall did not receive rave reviews and that is likely to effect his chance of nomination. Bobby Cannavle of Boardwalk Empire falls into the same category of the many former. Immensely talented, but unlikely. The almost sure candidate is Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad and it would be very surprising if it turned out to be anyone but him.
My Prediction: Aaron Paul
Nominations: Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones Aaron Paul, Breaking Bad Sam Waterston, The Newsroom Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Game of Thrones
Bobby Cannavle, Boardwalk Empire John Slattery, Mad Men These are my guesses for the Drama section. I'll probably be doing comedy next. Please keep in mind that these are only personal opinions and that I have no way of knowing who will actually win. Please feel feel to discuss in comments below. Thanks for reading.
