3. The Walking Dead
Speaking of show's that looked poised to go on forever, AMC's epic horror-drama The Walking Dead actually has an endgame in sight for the first time.
Now, this is technically cheating since the show's eleventh and final season will air in two parts, the second of which is coming at the start of 2022, but it's such big news it wouldn't feel right to cut it from this list.
The zombie-drama's eleventh season will consist of an extra-long 24 episodes, with showrunner Angela Kang returning to see things through. When the show does come to an end, various spin-offs will work to keep the franchise alive, including a Daryl/Carol team-up and the long-gestating Rick Grimes movies.
The first half of the final season will air, like others before it, around October of this year, kicking off the show's epic conclusion.
