24: Legacy Season 1 Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs

3. It Totally Feels Like 24

Commendably, Legacy does completely capture the style, feel and tone of the original 24 show, albeit both for better and worse.

The cheesy subplots, anonymously-directed action, ridiculously elaborate CTU sets, political intrigue, sneaky moles, and insane against-the-odds heroism are all pure 24 formula, and though that template can feel quite stale some 15 years after the show first debuted, it can still sit alongside the original Bauer run well enough.

Neither attempting a potentially off-putting reinvention of the series nor clinging too eagerly to nostalgia, Legacy looks and feels like the series never left our screens, even if it might ultimately have you returning to earlier seasons for more consistent thrills.
